Manufacturers, Suppliers and Test Laboratories application requirements for WRAS product approval
The Regulators’ Specification provides test and acceptance criteria for many water fittings in the form of Test Code Sheets, which are available on the WRAS website (Regulators’ Specification Search). WRAS approval is only granted to water fittings that satisfy the Regulators Specification.
These identify the parts of the Regulators’ Specification which are considered to be covered by the standard and any additional testing that may be required where it does not offer the equivalent level of protection or performance. Where there are any shortfalls or the standard is not deemed to meet the Regulators’ Specification in any aspect, additional testing will be required. WRAS will only accept test reports against current standards and the testing must be no more than 2 years old when presented to the Product Approval Group.
Additionally, the test facility issuing the test report must have accreditation in accordance with ISO 17025 for the particular standard and the Accreditation should be issued by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), or by an equivalent overseas body which is subject to the multilateral agreement accepted by the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA), the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), or the International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation (ILAC).
